münster BAROCK

What would Münster be today without its baroque past? The image of the city was reshaped in baroque building fervor and according to European models. Master builders such as Gottfried Laurenz Pictorius and Johann Conrad Schlaun shaped Westphalian towns with modern Baroque architecture, and new festive buildings for the prince-bishop and nobility became a hub of art and culture. Inspired by the musical life at Westphalian noble courts and with reference to Münster’s music collections, concerts will be held in various instrumentations.

We are looking forward to the next edition in September 2022 and a reunion with our audience and musicians!

The Baroque Festival is a cooperative project of münster BAROCK and the Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Westfälischen Kulturarbeit e.V. (GWK).
